In their two most recent surveys on trade associations (1996 and 2003) 'Which?' Magazine rated The National Guild Of Removers & Storers as one of the best trade associations in the country and certainly the best of the choices available in the removals industry. So much so that they actually suggested that their readers look up a member of The Guild when choosing a remover.

The reason for Which?'s praise is the Guild's clear commitment to promoting quality and service. This includes the annual independent inspection of members, membership of The Removals Industry Ombudsman Scheme, a Code Of Practice which relates to how members deal with customers and continual monitoring of members' performance via reply paid quality questionnaire cards handed out to their customer on the day of the move.
 
The quality questionnaire cards are addressed to The Guild and according to the recently released figures from 2009, of those received, more than 98% were very satisfied customers. Lynne Stone, Membership Secretary of The Guild, says "Detailed records are kept of the quality ratings on the cards, (ie how the customer rates the remover). At the end of each month the remover with the highest percentage of favourable questionnaire answers is awarded the 'Remover of the Month'. The calculations are continued throughout the year and the members with the highest percentage of satisfied customers reports over the 12 months are awarded the prestigious 'Annual Certification of Excellence'."
